Hilsha Khichuri Recipe
In the rain, Bengalis don't hang out without Hilsa khichuri. Today I have brought the easy recipe of Hilsha Khichuri. By following this recipe you can cook Hilsha Khichuri within a very short time.
Ingredients
1) 2 pieces of hilsa
2) 1/2 cup Govinda Bhog rice
3) 1/2 cup mug dal
4) 1 large onion slice
5) 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
6) Salt and sugar - quantatibely
7) Raw chilli slice - quantatibely
8) 1 teaspoon Kashmiri chilli powder
9) 1 teaspoon hot spice powder
10) 1 tablespoon ghee
11) 1/2 teaspoon whole cumin
12) 1 dried chilli
13) 1 bay leaf
Cooking Method
1) First the fish should be smeared well with salt and turmeric. Then it should be lightly fried.
2) Then fry the dried chillies, bay leaves, whole cumin seeds and onion powder in a pan with mustard oil and Kashmiri chilli powder.
3) Now add rice and pulses and fry well.
4) Now give light hot water in the pan and cover with lid for 10 minutes.
5) Then add a few raw chillies with the fried fish. Then cover it again for 10-15 minutes.
6) Then when the fish is boiled, it should be kept separately.
7) Now if the rice and pulses are not fully cooked, then boil it for a while and mix it with ghee and hot spice powder.
8) Then serve it with boiled fish which is kept separately.
